Calm personal loan consultation about CCRIS

Many people think they are “blacklisted” because of their CCRIS or CTOS record. In fact, there is no official blacklist. A credit report simply records your borrowing and repayment history, and each lender makes its own decision based on that information.

What is CCRIS?

CCRIS (Central Credit Reference Information System) is a credit information system run by Bank Negara Malaysia. It collects credit facility information from financial institutions, including your outstanding balances and monthly repayment history.

What is CTOS?

CTOS is a private credit reporting agency registered under the Credit Reporting Agencies Act 2010. Its report can include information from CCRIS, legal action records and other credit-related information.

Why there is no “blacklist”

Both reports show facts about your debts and payments. Nobody “blacklists” you. Lenders read the report and judge the risk according to their own policies. That is why one lender may decline an application while another may consider it.

What lenders look at

  • How many months of missed payments appear in your repayment history.
  • Your existing debt compared with your income.
  • Any legal action or bankruptcy records.
  • How many new credit applications you have made recently.

How to check and improve your credit record

  1. Get your CCRIS report from Bank Negara Malaysia (eCCRIS) and your CTOS report from CTOS.
  2. Check for mistakes and ask for corrections if any information is wrong.
  3. Clear arrears and pay instalments on time. A good month-by-month record shows up in your report.
  4. Avoid applying for lots of new credit in a short time.

Can you apply with us?

Yes, you can apply. We assess every application individually based on your income, commitments and credit record, and we do not guarantee approval. Be careful with adverts promising that “blacklisted applicants get approved”. They often come from scammers. See our personal loan for eligibility.
