Having all your personal loan documents ready before you apply is the simplest way to speed up the process. Most delayed applications are not caused by the applicant being ineligible, but by documents that are blurry, incomplete or out of date. Use the checklist below before you fill in the form.
Who can apply for a personal loan
Before you gather your documents, check that you meet the basic requirements for our personal loan:
- Malaysian citizen aged 21 to 60
- Salaried employee in government, a statutory body, a GLC or the private sector
- Minimum monthly income of RM1,500
- Able to afford the instalment after your existing commitments
Our personal loan is not offered to self-employed applicants. If you own an SSM-registered business, see our Business Loan.
Personal loan documents checklist
Prepare these four documents:
- Copy of your MyKad (front and back)
- Payslips for the latest 3 months
- Bank statements for the latest 3 months
- Your latest EPF statement or latest electricity bill (either one)
Our team may ask for more documents after reviewing your application. If so, we will tell you which documents are needed and why.
Why each document is needed
| Document | Purpose | Tips |
|---|---|---|
| MyKad | Confirms your identity, age and citizenship | Both sides, all four corners visible and the text readable |
| Payslips (3 months) | Confirms your income and employer | Three consecutive months. Your name and MyKad number must match your MyKad |
| Bank statements (3 months) | Shows your salary coming in and your monthly commitments | Use the original PDF from your bank if you can. Your name and account number must be visible |
| EPF statement or electricity bill | Supports your employment or address details | Use the latest one. Either document is enough |
Government vs private sector: are the documents different?
No. The basic documents are the same for government, statutory body, GLC and private sector employees. Usually the only difference is the payslip format, which comes from your employer.
If your salary is paid in cash rather than into a bank account, choose “Cash” on the application form and tell our team. Your bank statement may not show your salary, so we will let you know which documents work instead.
Extra documents for other loan types
If you are applying for a different loan, you will also need:
| Loan type | Extra documents |
|---|---|
| Debt Consolidation | The latest statement for each debt you want to pay off |
| Property-Secured Loan | Copy of the property title or grant, latest quit rent and assessment receipts, payslips or the latest 6 months’ bank statements |
| Business Loan | SSM certificate, latest 6 months’ business bank statements, the owner’s or director’s MyKad |
5 mistakes that delay your application
1. Blurry or cropped photos
Take photos in good light without glare, and make sure the whole document is inside the frame.
2. Old documents or missing months
Payslips and bank statements must cover the latest 3 consecutive months. A statement from six months ago does not show your current position.
3. Names or numbers that don’t match
The name on your payslips, bank statements and MyKad must be the same. If your name has changed or is spelt differently somewhere, tell us early.
4. Form details that differ from your documents
Fill in your monthly income on the form based on your payslip. A figure that is very different will need extra checks.
5. Editing documents
Never edit a payslip or bank statement. Altered documents will be rejected, and falsifying documents is an offence.
Send your documents safely
Loan documents contain personal information that is valuable to scammers. Follow these steps:
- Only send documents through our official channels: the application form and the WhatsApp number shown on this website.
- Never give anyone your PIN, TAC or online banking password.
- SuperPinjamMan never charges an upfront fee. If anyone asks you to pay before your loan is released, it is a sign of a scam.

- If approved, you will receive a written agreement to review and sign, together with a stamped copy.
